Anonymity exists so people can voice difficult questions. It is not immunity from these standards. Respect other people's boundaries in posts, messages, and calls.
1. Prohibited content and conduct
- Illegal or dangerous activity: content that facilitates crime, terrorism, violence, or a serious threat to public safety.
- Hate and discrimination: attacks or exclusion based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or another protected characteristic.
- Harassment and abuse: personal attacks, threats, malicious stalking, repeated unwanted contact, or encouraging others to target someone.
- Sexual exploitation: exploitative sexual content, non-consensual intimate material, or solicitation of sexual services.
- Self-harm encouragement: promoting, glorifying, or instructing self-harm, or encouraging dangerous challenges.
- Fraud and deception: deceptive transactions, false investments, impersonation, or pretending to represent NightAsk.
- Privacy violations: publishing another person's identity, address, contact details, or intimate imagery without permission.
- Spam: repetitive bulk posts, unrelated advertising, or attempts to move users into suspicious off-platform transactions.
2. Anonymous posting
These guidelines apply equally to anonymous content. NightAsk may use its internal account association to investigate and address violations. Other users cannot access that association.
3. How moderation works
- Before publication: questions, answers, direct messages, and profile fields may be checked for abusive, dangerous, or unlawful content. A submission may be published, returned for revision, or sent for review.
- After publication: only approved content is distributed in the main feed. High-risk and reported content may be reviewed again, reduced in distribution, removed, or associated with an account restriction.
- Supportive intervention: content indicating a possible risk of self-harm may be referred for review while the author is shown appropriate support resources.
4. Reporting and enforcement
You can report questions, answers, direct messages, profiles, and harassment during video calls:
- choose the most relevant reason and optionally add context;
- questions, answers, and profiles include a review snapshot, while a message report may include the selected message and adjacent context;
- a video call report includes the call identifier, time, and your description; calls are not recorded by default;
- after submission, you receive a ticket number and may block the reported account;
- possible actions include requesting edits, removing content, limiting posts or messages, reducing distribution, suspending an account, or permanently ending access.
5. Appeals and blocking
If you believe an enforcement decision was incorrect, submit an appeal from Me, Account Safety Status, then Appeal. We aim to review appeals within three business days and provide the outcome in the app.
You may block another user at any time. Blocking removes that person's content from your feed and prevents direct messages and video calls between the two accounts. Unblocking restores available interaction controls but does not restore deleted messages or create a follow relationship.
6. End User License Agreement
NightAsk grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the application on your devices. You may not reverse engineer the app, bypass security measures, scrape content in bulk, interfere with the service, or use NightAsk for any unlawful purpose.
7. Contact and appeals
